Addressing Risk, Safety, Permanency, and Well Being

Hours: 6

Objectives:

    Define and identify the differences between safety and risk
    Identify permanency and well-being within a home and family
    Discover how to reduce risk by creating and utilizing a successful Crisis Plan
    Learn the OCFS expectations regarding risk, safety, permanency and well-being
    Document risk, safety, permanency and well-being in progress notes and critical incident notes

 

Adolescents and the New Gender Journey

Hours: 6

Objectives:

    Learn the definition and difference between gender expression and sexual expression
    Understand gender dysphoria and its diagnosable origins
    Watch case studies and learn about gender and the adolescent culture
    Learn the acceptable ways to address a gender fluid individual

 

CFT Meeting Facilitation, Plan of Care Development, and FidelityEHR Documentation

Hours: 6

Objectives:

    Understand the CFT model and why it works
    Revisit the true intended CFT Meeting process via hands on training
    Learn and practice redirection and conflict resolution in a team meeting setting
    Learn to write attainable, relevant goals
    Understand how to create goal steps that truly support the goal
    Develop Plan of Care based on CFT Meeting minutes

Co-Occurring Substance Use and Mental Health Disorders

Crisis Intervention: When and How

Objectives:

    Identify the basic theories of a crisis and the theoretical frameworks that help us to understand crisis intervention
    Discover why it is important to keep culture in mind when engaging in crisis intervention
    Recognize your own cultural biases and how this can affect your efficiency in a crisis
    Learn assessment models used in crisis intervention
    Explore the skills used to manage crisis situations

    Learn how to focus the High Fidelity Wraparound crisis plan to break the cycle of crisis for youth and families
    Learn to plan for preventing or reducing crises based on a functional assessment that align with the Plan of Care

Cultural Competence

    Explain what culturally competent means
    Discuss the importance of recognizing, understanding, and respecting cultural differences while working with clients

    Understand how to acquire login information for staff and login to FidelityEHR

Mental Health 101

Hours: 6

Objectives:

    List the symptoms and diagnostic criteria for major mental illnesses
    Understand common screening tools for mental illnesses
    Recognize the most commonly used psychosocial and medication treatments for mental illnesses
    Understand early history regarding the development of mental health treatment
    Discover some of the new founding fathers of cutting edge mental health treatments
    Have a new understanding of treatments being utilized today

 

Person-Centered Care Approach

Hours: 6

Objectives:

    Understand the concept of strength-based service
    Understand the importance of the individual in care planning
    Explain the history of person-centered planning
    Assess the stages of change
    Develop individualized plans of care, including objectives, services, and supports

 

QPR: Question, Persuade, Refer – Suicide Awareness and Prevention

Hours: 1

Objectives:

    Understand the epidemiology of suicide and current statistics, as well as myths and misconceptions about suicide and suicide prevention
    Detect general warning signs of suicide
    Review the three target gatekeeper skills (i.e., question, persuade, refer).
    View videos and information slides pertinent to the QPR model
    Receive a booklet that contains an overview of the didactic presentation, a review of the gatekeeper role, and information about local referral resources

 

Skill Building

Hours: 3

Objectives:

    Plan activities based on an assigned Plan of Care task
    Balance task assignment with time management for most successful outcomes
    Practice teaching a skill using scaffolding methodology
    Link to community resources

 

Trauma Informed Care

Hours: 3

Objectives:

    Define Trauma-Informed Care
    Understand Traumatic Stress
    Understand the effects trauma has on development, behaviors, and functioning
    Recognize ways to calm and create safety for an individual who has experienced various levels of trauma

 

Vendor Service Codes

Hours: 3

Objectives:

    Review current list of service codes and rates
    Understand descriptions of each vendor and flex fund service code
    Link Plan of Care needs to appropriate vendor service codes using the High Fidelity Wraparound model
