This four day training for front-line workers (CHW’s, outreach workers, community organizers, and others who are working in a community-based setting) will be offered on March 19, 20, 26, and 27 (9am-4pm each day) at Buffalo Urban League (15 Genesee Street).
Topics covered in the training include: basics of health care/public health/social determinants of health, history of CHWs and community-based care, informal counseling, confidentiality and ethics, cultural competency, strengths-based approaches to working with individuals, families, and communities, navigating healthcare & social service systems, facilitating behavior change, adult learning, and community education.
Registration is on a first come/first serve basis and is limited to two participants per organization due to limited space.
