How Does the Wraparound Method of Service Help Families

According to the NWI “Wraparound is an intensive, holistic method of engaging with individuals with complex needs (most typically children, youth, and their families) so that they can live in their homes and communities and realize their hopes and dreams.”

What does this mean for our families here in Erie County?

Our families here in Erie County have been receiving services in the Wraparound model since being awarded a SAMHSA grant in 2004. Today families continue to have the opportunity to participate in Wraparound.   Every year, CCNY sends out a survey to the families who have participated in services in the previous year. This survey helps us to measure Family Voice and Choice, which is an essential piece of what makes Wraparound work. Over 80% of parents/guardians strongly agreed or agreed that Wraparound workers made a positive impact on their family’s life.  We asked the participating families for 3 words to describe Wraparound services in Erie County this is what they said:
