If my child needs Wraparound services, what do I do?

E-mail Print PDF
It is important to know who qualifies for this kind of services. The wraparound process is a higher level of care. The wraparound process is for families with children or youth who may be:

  • Experiencing Serious Emotional Disturbances (SED),
  • Youth who are experiencing emotional, behavioral or social challenges in life, and
  • At risk of being removed from their home, school or community because of their mental health needs.

It is also for children and youth who have already been removed from their home, school or community and:

  • Placed in a Residential Treatment Facility (RTF), or
  • Placed in a Residentail Treatment Center (RTC).

Age requirement:

  • The child or youth must be age 5-17 to receive services through the wraparound process.
  • However, if they are receiving services before their 18th birthday they can continue to receive services until they reach age 21.

A referral form has to be:

  • Completed and mailed to Family Voices Network of Erie County.
Please go to the Family Voices Network website for more information and to download the form.
